To focus, through research and advocacy, on all regulatory aspects of the national payment system as governed by the Payment System Management Act 18 of 2003 and its attendant regulations so as to ensure an effective and efficient national payment system. This department also focuses on regional initiatives such as the SADC Payment Systems Project in order to ensure Namibia’s full and beneficial participation in regional payment systems.
