How To Become a BAN Member
Financial institutions wishing to become members of the Bankers Association may on applications to BAN be admitted either as Category 1, Category 2, Category 3 members.

Category 1 Member
Means a member who has been declared by the Bank of Namibia a domestic systemically important bank in Namibia in terms of the Banking Institutions Act

Category 2 Member
A member who has not been declared by the Bank of Namibia as a domestic systematically important bank in Namibia provided that any member being subsequently declared by the Bank of Namibia as a domestic systematically important bank shall be classified as a Category 1 member

Category 3 Member
Includes an Excluded Finacial Institution, or a member whos is declared as Category 3 member by the company, given its size, and unique circumstances, as BAN, in its sole and exclusive right, inclusive of terms and conditions of such admission, may determine from time to time.

Excluded Institutions
Excluded Finacial Institutions means those institutions which have been excluded from the application of the Banking Institutions Act and are listed and designated under section 2 of the Banking Institutions ACt
